Abstract
The paper focuses on an analysis and critical overview of the role of counterintelligence operations as an integral part of national security potentials of every state in their efforts to suppress all forms of threats and challenges to security. The foundation of the analysis comprises foreign theoretical and practical experiences in this field, bearing in mind that counterintelligence activities are given a lot of attention, both to intelligence operations and other security related activities, measures and operations, aimed at discovering, analyzing, understanding and suppressing all current threats to national, international and global security.
