AB  - By comparing the risk theory and the relevant standard with the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence (Law), it comes to the conclusion that risk management, especially in the domain of its assessment, is based on qualitative methods of analysis. Thus, the potential for the application of semi-quantitative and quantitative risk analysis methods in the application of the said regulation is not used. As it is too ambitious to problematize the purpose and the possibility of implementation of both types of methods of risk analysis in the Law by one paper, this paper deals with possibility and limitations of the conversion of qualitative into quantitative data in the function of risk assessment in the doctrine and practice of preventing domestic violence in the Republic of Serbia. More precisely, the work has identified the purpose, possibilities, limitations and the proposal of their overcoming, in the implication of the matrices of probability and consequences, as a semi-quantitative method of analysing the specific risk in the doctrine and practice of preventing domestic violence in the mentioned spatial framework. This contributes to the creation of conditions that support the effective implementation of the Law, which are not foreseen as a potential for improving the doctrine and practice of preventing domestic violence by using matrices of probability and consequences, while recognizing the identified limitations. The verification of this research creates a starting point for the development of standards for the quantification of the risk of domestic violence, which creates the conditions for the mentioned assessments to be more accurate in terms of precision, ranking and risk classification, as well as the reduction of discretionary decision-making. This would create the conditions for defining good practice in this area, which could be taken to the necessary extent in other countries.

AB  - The aim of this paper is to determine the effects of the “School policeman” program that is being implemented in the Republic of Serbia on safety in schools. Data on crime in schools from the official police evidence as well as attitudes collected during the survey of 572 members of school staff are analysed in the paper. The data on crime, based on the results of two-factor analysis of variance, are used to indicate the change of frequency in the number of crimes under the influence of activities of the school policeman. On the other hand, the surveyed respondents stated their opinion on perception of their own safety before and after the school policeman was engaged, as well as the effectiveness of his activities. There has been a significant increase in number of criminal offences in schools in which the school policeman was engaged. Nevertheless, a very high percentage of the surveyed respondents declared that they felt safer after the school policeman had been engaged in schools. There has been no studies that dealt with real effects of police officers’ activities in schools in Serbia and wider so far. This paper, based on statistical data (objective indicators) and attitudes of school staff (subjective indicators), reveals that the “School policeman” program has achieved positive effects ensuring the increase of overall level of safety in schools.

AB  - The paper gives an analysis of some optimization algorithms in computer sciences and their implementation in solving the problem of binary character recognition. The performance of these algorithms is analyzed using the Optimization Algorithm Toolkit, with emphasis on determining the impact of parameter values. It is shown that these types of algorithms have shown a significant sensitivity as far as the choosing of the parameters was concerned which would have an effect on how the algorithm functions. In this sense, the existence of optimal value was found, as well as extremely unacceptable values.

AB  - The paper deals with the possibilities of implementing video-conferencing as a technical system for communication in the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia. Special attention is given in this paper to using video-conferencing in the order to minimize time and costs of preparation and implementation of official meetings in the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia. In addition to perceiving the necessary technical and other characteristics, there is a concrete example of the conceptual design of a video-conference link, which would be applicable in keeping with the Ministry requirements.
AB  - Rad je posvećen mogućnostima primene video-konferencijske veze kao tehničkog sistema za komunikaciju u Ministarstvu unutrašnjih poslova Republike Srbije. Posebna pažnja u radu posvećena je pitanju korišćenja video konferencijske veze u funkciji minimizacije vremena i troškova pripreme i realizacije službenih sastanaka u Ministarstvu unutrašnjih poslova Republike Srbije. Pored sagledavanja neophodnih tehničkih i funkcionalnih karakteristika, dat je i konkretan primer idejnog rešenja video konferencijske veze, koja bi po svojim osobinama bila primenljiva sa aspekta potreba Ministarstva.
