Уметничка апологија републике : Амброђо Лоренцети

Abstract

In the paper autohrs are analysing artistic apology of republican constitution i Siena in cycle of frescoes of Italian paintor in Hall of Nine in Palazzo Publico in Siena. First part of the paper is dealing with the ideal of republican rule based on ideas of peace, public welfare, concord, justice and prudence. Second part is an iconographic analysis of those values in Lorenzzeti´s compositions whose aim was to show that all republican values were embodied in rule of Nine in Siena than in tecento was town-republic. Authors conclude that art of trecento was not passive and pure reflection of occurennces in social and political life, but the active participant in historical events.
